Software Engineering Manager, Sparse Linear Algebra Libraries

Job Description

Seeking a software engineering manager to lead development efforts for high-performance sparse linear algebra libraries in AI and scientific computing domains.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc degree in Computational Science and Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in developing high-performance numerical software
• 3+ years of experience recruiting, training, and leading software engineering teams
• Strong fundamentals in numerical methods such as computational sparse/dense linear algebra
• Hands-on experience with API design, object-oriented programming, system software architecture development, testing, maintenance, and performance optimization using C++ and Python
• Experience with parallel programming using CUDA, MPI, OpenMP, OpenACC, pthreads
• Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
• Experience with CI/CD systems and project management tools like JIRA

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow the library engineering team
• Ensure quality and performance of libraries, plan and execute projects
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to gather requirements
• Contribute to technology roadmaps and advance state-of-the-art in computing domains
