Senior Optical Engineer (E)

Job Description

The senior optical engineer in the LS-Swift group at KLA will support current projects and work on future generation products by utilizing knowledge of optics and laser development.

Requirements

• Doctorate or work experience of 2 years
• Master's Level Degree or work experience of 4 years
• Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 5 years
• Proficient level in Matlab or equivalent
• Proficient in ZeMax
• Working knowledge of optical fundamentals (ray tracing, stray light, aberrations, diffraction)
• Able to run a tolerance analysis
• Able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
• Able to work effectively in a team and deliver finished work products to a schedule
• Able to perform an experimental error budget analysis

Responsibilities

• Supporting current projects and working on future generation products
• Modeling optical systems and phenomena
• Creating laboratory experiments to address optical path issues
• Analyzing data from experiments
• Collaborating with systems engineering to create an error budget for the optical system
• Broadening skills in Optical modeling, Image simulation, Light level estimates, and more
