Optical Engineering Manager (E)

Job Description

KLA is looking for an Opto-Mechanics Engineer to work in a team responsible for core optics modules across different divisions within the corporation.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of optical and mechanical engineering principles and fundamentals
• Experience with FEA simulations for structural and thermal analysis
• Proficient in 3D solid modeling using CAD, preferably ProE/Creo
• Analytical problem-solving skills in structural, optical, and thermal domains
• Experience in engineering tolerance and error budgets
• Ability to work in a multi-discipline and multi-culture global organization
• Excellent writing skills and verbal communication
• Willingness to travel for training, project support, and customer support

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of complex opto-mechanical sub-systems
• Collaborate with suppliers worldwide to develop reliable solutions for next-generation tools
• Understand and drive system and subsystem requirement specifications
• Lead concept and detailed designs, including design reviews
• Guide material and component selection for optical and opto-mechanical systems
• Propose feasibility studies and proof of concepts
• Define test criteria, build test plans for prototypes, and guide release process
• Work with multi-functional groups, lead system-level discussions, and problem-solving activities
