Sr. Power Electronics Validation Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a key member for product development teams to bring the next generation of electric vehicle high voltage power electronic products to production.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading automotive component validations
• Experience in test planning and execution from program inception to final validation sign0ff
• Understanding of automotive industry validation standards
• Expertise with environmental test set up and test error proofing
• Experience designing vibration fixtures
• Expertise in instrumentation
• Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols
• Experience with collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence & requirements management tools
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment
• Self-motivated with ability to set direction and guide the team
• Hands-on approach in identifying and filling gaps
• Ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Develop validation test plans and lead execution
• Work closely with software and hardware engineering teams
• Define Special Test Equipment functional requirements
• Develop test procedures and test fixture design
• Provide directions to lab technicians for test setups and execution
• Create and analyze test summary reports
• Document validation test failures and support root cause analysis
• Manage supplier sourced sub-component validation efforts
• Participate in design and requirement reviews
• Report validation status to the product development team
