Sr. Motor Controls and Integration Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a professional to develop electric motor control features and integrate testing of algorithms on vehicle platforms in Carson, CA.

Requirements

• M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Vehicle Engineering
• 3+ years of EV or equivalent experience
• Fluency in Model-based design using Matlab/Simulink
• Experience with tools such as CANalyzer, CANape, or similar
• Knowledge of AC electric machine drive principles
• Experience in developing digital control algorithms for 3-phase switching power converters and AC electric machines
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%
• Fluency in C and C++ programming languages

Responsibilities

• Test motor control features across various vehicle dynamics
• Develop and test motor control algorithms and calibrations for high power electric drive systems
• Collaborate with test teams to ensure full test coverage
• Perform regression testing for algorithm and calibration development
• Participate in vehicle test trip support for cold and hot weather testing
• Submit patents and trade secrets to advance Rivian Intellectual Property portfolio
