Corrosion Development Engineer II

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Corrosion Development Engineer to join their team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of proven experience in vehicle testing, project management and stakeholder management
• Experience in automotive testing procedures and standards.
• Understanding of various vehicle systems, subsystem interactions and failure modes
• Knowledge of relevant automotive industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of vehicle-level corrosion and stone impact durability tests
• Utilize tools like Confluence and Jira to document test plans, procedures, and results
• Track test progress, timelines, and milestones, ensuring transparency and accountability within the team and cross functionally
• Ensure external test facilities’ adherence to Rivian test protocols and capture critical data throughout the test
• Log, categorize, and prioritize test findings and issues
• Work closely with design and development teams to integrate test feedback into product improvements
• Provide technical guidance to teams on corrosion and stone impact durability considerations during product development
• Drive optimization efforts in testing procedures to reduce lead times and resource requirements
