Staff Embedded Software Engineer (RAP), Autonomy

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in safety-critical self-driving middleware to design, develop, and deploy software for self-driving features.

Requirements

• B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience developing production-grade software
• Strong C++ programming skills
• Experience in automotive or robotics software development
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Lua, Python)
• Experience in software development for x86_64 and ARM architectures
• Experience working on heterogeneous systems with various hardware accelerators
• Experience using and/or building libraries for hardware accelerators
• Experience contributing to middleware and/or building abstraction layers
• Familiarity with OpenCV, OpenVX, or relevant acceleration frameworks
• Experience contributing to software tooling
• Good team player with great communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy software within hardware abstraction middleware for self-driving features
• Develop software working on Linux and real-time operating systems
• Develop software for distributed and heterogeneous systems
• Develop necessary tools to support development, debugging, and testing
• Assist in software-design and code reviews
• Analysis of requirements, architecture, design, development, code review, quality assurance, and deployment
• Coordinate with application development and cross-functional teams
