Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Embedded Software Engineer to join their inverter embedded software team to enhance software performance, safety, robustness, and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in embedded software development
• Proficient in C/C++ programming languages
• Deep understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Knowledge of power electronics and safety
• Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, and peripheral interfaces
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies, including Agile and Scrum

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of key software functions and frameworks
• Enhance inverter software performance, safety, robustness, and reliability
• Mentor and guide junior engineers
• Work closely with hardware engineers, program managers, and stakeholders
• Oversee multiple projects and manage resources and budgets effectively
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of design specifications and processes
