Exploratory Device Scientist - Platform Architecture

Job Description

Apple's Exploratory Design Group (XDG) is seeking device scientists and engineers with expertise in device design across photonic, electronic, and electromechanical/optomechanical fields to innovate and create new concepts and devices for future Apple systems.

Requirements

• BS in optoelectronics/electromechanical, optomechanical or similar engineering degree
• Experience setting up lab equipment
• Experience in research process development, fabricating and characterizing photonic devices
• Experience in modeling and designing photonic and electronic devices

Responsibilities

• Conceive, analyze, model, optimize, and evolve new concepts and devices
• Communicate plans and technical results through team meetings, reports, and presentations
• Participate in design, prototyping, and characterization of devices and systems
• Balance risk of novelty against delivering value, explore applications beyond traditional boundaries
