Services Engineer

Job Description

As a Systems Engineer at Apple's Fleet Operations Engineering group, you will be responsible for supporting Apple's Global Compute Infrastructure and driving key goals in automation, process improvement, technical development, monitoring, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• BS degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years Linux/UNIX systems administration in medium to large environments
• 3+ years of system administration in cloud stack or VMware environments
• 3+ years of container orchestration and management technologies
• Public cloud experience
• 3+ years of support or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience with configuration/Version Management Tools

Responsibilities

• Directly support customers of various platform services
• Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve container orchestration/management issues
• Develop customer facing product documentation
• Work with Engineering teams to deploy/migrate/upgrade applications
• Participate in DevOps project brainstorming, design, implementation, and test phases
• Execute and deliver on goals and initiatives
• Monitor server and application performance, resource utilization, and security/compliance
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot various technologies such as Puppet, Chef, load balancing, and Virtual environments
