CPU Performance Engineer, Platform Architecture

Job Description

Seeking a highly motivated CPU Performance Engineer with a focus on CPU micro-architecture to join the CPU Architecture and Performance Team at Apple.

Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
• Knowledge of CPU architecture and micro-architecture
• Familiarity with performance and/or power simulation environments
• Coding skills including object-oriented programming with C and C++
• Experience in scripting languages such as Perl or Python

Responsibilities

• Analyze single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate with CPU designers in micro-architecture and RTL
• Maintain and improve the simulation environment for data-driven decisions
• Seek out areas for CPU innovation and improvement
