Job Description

Join the Lucene Search Engine team at Amazon to design and develop query serving and indexing components of the product search stack.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 2+ years of big data technologies experience
• 2+ years of server-side development experience
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent is a plus

Responsibilities

• Dive deep into search engine internals to identify opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate with partner teams to define project roadmap
• Contribute to open source Lucene and bring latest advancements in-house
• Improve semantic matching capabilities of the search engine
• Design and develop tooling to improve operational efficiency
• Participate in on-call and maintain operational excellence
