Sr. System Development Engineer, Storage Systems Team

Job Description

The AWS Hardware Engineering team is looking for talented individuals to join their team to lead the development of AWS storage servers and devices, working on software test development, integration, and system debugging.

Requirements

• Experience in developing automation software
• Strong understanding of OS internals, especially storage subsystems in a Linux-based environment
• Experience with building and troubleshooting device drivers for Linux on ARM and x86
• Hands-on development of automation software in modern languages like Python, Ruby, Java, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead the HWEng System Development effort to define and build software and enabling tools
• Work with internal teams to ensure new storage hardware addresses data path and control path functionality
• Identify potential problems with on-boarding new storage servers into the ecosystem
• Build and deploy pipelines for rapid deployment of code changes
• Build monitoring tools and metrics to ensure hardware runs properly in test and production environments
