Exteriors, Sr. Mechanical Design & Release Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a CAD based mechanical design engineer to help design and develop plastic molded components for their electric vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering (Masters preferred)
• 4 yrs. of exterior component design and release experience
• Catia v5 / v6 operative skills
• 4+ years of experience in Automotive exteriors mechanisms from concept to production
• Proven supplier management skills
• Highly motivated with good logical reasoning
• Strong numeracy & literacy with good organizational & communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and model plastic molded components
• Use Catia V6/3D Experience to develop high quality 3D parametric data
• Develop high quality 2D drawings and LD files
• Work with cross functional teams to develop high quality CAD
• Work with the studio team to provide feedback and generate high quality A-surfaces
• Come up with different CAD concepts for issues, detailed 2D sections and concept 3D CAD during initial development
