Job Description

We are looking for a talented Eng.Materials Science Engineering Technical Advisor to join our team specializing in engineering for our Cummins’ business in Columbus, IN.

Requirements

• College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required
• Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles
• Prior Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required

Responsibilities

• Leading investigations of complex material and material processing problems
• Creating, managing, and improving methods for material validation, quality auditing, design validation, and problem-solving
• Obtaining input and negotiating with Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering functions to deliver complex material solutions
• Using systems knowledge to make impactful decisions in material selection, innovation, qualification, and inspection
• Ensuring material capability and quality requirements are clearly understood and implemented
• Providing leadership in problem resolution for complex systems with significant ambiguity and global business impact
• Leading the development and improvement of work processes and systems across functions
• Coordinating and directing technical project teams, managing small to mid-sized teams, and mentoring engineers
