Sr. Aero Design Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking an Aero Design Engineer to support Aerodynamicists in developing new concepts and test assets to improve vehicle efficiency.

Requirements

• Educated to a degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar role within the automotive or motorsport industry
• Extremely high proficiency in parametric 3D CAD modeling (preferably Catia)
• Deep understanding of design for manufacturing
• Manufacturing experience preferred; welding, turning, 3D printing, etc.
• Strong communication skills
• Instrumentation and data collection experience desirable
• Ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and changing environment

Responsibilities

• Design and manufacture of wind tunnel models and test assets
• Manufacturing, assembly, and logistics of test assets
• Setting up data acquisition systems and instrumentation
• Produce engineering drawings for component manufacturing
• Work with Aerodynamicists to develop new technologies
• Support Aerodynamicists with parametric CAD models for CFD analysis
• Design fixtures to test and validate designs and simulations across all fluid dynamics disciplines
