Sr. Software Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Service Engineering team to build software supporting post-sales servicing needs for their Electric Adventure Vehicles.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in CS or any STEM discipline
• Proficiency with Python
• Proficiency in GraphQL and REST
• Familiarity with ReactJS using TypeScript
• Solid understanding of databases and comfortable with data modeling in a SQL or NoSQL (DynamoDB) world
• Familiarity with Gitlab and its CI/CD pipeline
• Familiarity with IaC (Terraform)
• Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS preferred) and deploying to a serverless (Lambda) or Dockerized environment (Kubernetes)
• Experience working with asynchronous, event-based workflows
• Experience using DataDog or similar technologies to debug production issues
• Unit testing and test-driven development experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test customer-facing APIs and internal applications, including frontend and backend distributed systems and micro-services at scale
• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, service leaders and other engineering teams on business and engineering initiatives
• Mentor more junior engineers and establish best engineering practices for the team
• Willing to support on-call rotation as needed for production systems
