Sr. Range & Efficiency Development Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Range & Efficiency (R&E) Development Engineer to support the development of emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles.

Requirements

• Hands-on knowledge of range testing procedures, coast-down testing, and dynamometer testing
• Capability to manage multiple test activities in parallel for different programs
• Working knowledge of vehicle communication network systems
• Experience in data analysis and test scripting/automation (C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink)
• Experience in battery-powered electric vehicles and powertrains
• Experience in debugging and resolving hardware and software issues at the vehicle level
• Understanding of measurement equipment maintenance and calibration
• Ability to instrument a vehicle and operate data acquisition systems
• Excellent communication skills in technical and non-technical environments
• Desire to create high-quality products in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Scheduling test tracks, dynamometers, and prioritizing resources
• Executing vehicle level static and dynamic efficiency test activities
• Collaborating with internal and external teams for validation
• Instrumenting vehicles for data collection and analysis
• Participating in design reviews and benchmarking activities
• Interpreting regulations and test procedures
• Managing opening and closure of engineering concerns throughout the vehicle life
