Sr. Battery Test and Validation Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform development and validation testing for high voltage battery packs.

Requirements

• BS in mechanical engineering or closely related subject
• 4+ years automotive experience or in a related field
• Prior CAD and fixture design experience
• Prior experience testing high voltage batteries is preferred
• Eager to learn and to find opportunities to dig deeper into technical topics
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong technical communication skills (written and verbal)

Responsibilities

• Perform development and validation testing at various levels for high voltage battery packs
• Develop test plans and procedures targeting failure modes and demonstrating robustness
• Drive testing efforts with cross-functional teams, external labs, and suppliers
• Provide technical input on FMEA, design, manufacturing, CAE correlation, and DVP development
• Maintain and enforce a clean and safe work environment
