Sr Electrical Engineer - Battery Technology

Job Description

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Sr. Engineer to join their Battery Technology group. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to focus on battery safety and reliability, running tests, presenting and analyzing data, and proposing solutions to resolve issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering or related field
• Five years of industry experience in system architecture, design, or development
• Two years of Li-Ion, NiCAD, Lead Acid, or other chemistry; battery system design, architecture, testing, or integration
• Technical leadership, project management, or mentoring others
• Fundamental understanding of Lithium-Ion battery management and charging strategies and circuits
• Ability to provide hands-on assistance with product development involving use of various lab equipment
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel and Power Point
• Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international)

Responsibilities

• Serve as a role model for Milwaukee Tool’s culture while mentoring, guiding, and coaching junior Engineers
• Grow team’s technical capability and future leadership
• Develop leadership skills to manage a small team of engineers
• Demonstrate high performance and agility by independently creating work breakdown structures for projects
• Track multiple projects independently to ensure adherence to schedule
• Drive urgency in project schedules and accountability for achieving key project metrics
• Provide candid and effective communications to cross-functional audiences
• Design, prototype, and test lithium-ion battery products with limited oversight
• Provide engineering support on high complexity projects
• Test and qualify new designs to regulatory standards
• Develop test plans and procedures to ensure battery products meet safety requirements
• Draw conclusions from experiments based on data analysis
