Senior Design Engineer - Advanced

Job Description

The Senior Design Engineer in Advanced Engineering at Milwaukee Tool is responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers and CAD designers to develop technical solutions for challenging design requirements and new product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics, Masters preferred
• 5+ years’ experience in product design or mechanical design
• 2+ years leading & managing mechanical engineering teams in a technical field
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD – ProE, Solidworks, NX
• Strong experience with FEA
• Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 5-10% (travel includes Domestic and International)

Responsibilities

• Lead technical efforts to define needs, identify possible solutions, and generate methodology for evaluation and verification of manufacturable mechanical designs
• Communicate effectively with teams and management to facilitate workflow and resolve project barriers and issues
• Provide clear engineering information to New Product Development Teams and Product Marketing for trade-off decisions
• Foster a positive, high-energy environment and culture within the team
• Drive design reviews, give critical assessment, and provide feedback
• Develop math models, design and evaluate new mechanisms, and perform various analyses
• Participate in field research, interact with suppliers, and evaluate product design relative to material selection, cost, and reliability
• Hire talented individuals to contribute to the team
