Senior Design Engineer, Advanced

Job Description

The Senior Design Engineer at Milwaukee Tool will contribute to the design and development of new products and support existing products within the department through highly developed engineering expertise and project management abilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics, Masters preferred
• 3-10 years of design experience
• Experience driving Front End Innovation, Advanced Engineering, or New Product Development Projects
• Highly developed Electro-Mechanical aptitude including an understanding of battery-powered electromechanical systems
• Proficiency in 3D CAD – NX, ProE, Solidworks, or similar
• Experience with FEA – ANSYS, LS DYNA, or similar
• Ability to travel up to 10%
• Interest in tools of the construction trades

Responsibilities

• Lead ideation, prototyping, testing, concept selection, and test development activities on mid/high complexity Power Tool Advanced Development projects
• Assess upcoming NPD programs, generate technical input to ADV priorities, and establish test regimens for components and assemblies
• Develop, write, and analyze testing reports in the internal laboratory
• Serve as a technical resource and provide consultation/mentorship to others
• Thrive in a collaborative work environment and develop productive business relationships
