Job Description

The Facilities Engineer will manage the daily operations of a 500,000-square-foot Tier 1 manufacturing facility, overseeing facilities systems, collaborating on equipment installation, and ensuring compliance with codes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial), Industrial Technology or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, with a focus on large manufacturing operations
  • Expertise in facility systems management, including electrical systems (switchgear), chiller systems, plumbing and pneumatic system design and sizing
  • In-depth knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and other relevant regulations
  • Strong project management skills, including timeline development, budgeting, and cross-team coordination
  • Proficiency with CAD software for reviewing and approving facility layouts and mechanical/electrical designs
  • Familiarity with local building codes, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration across various teams and with external contractors

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain facility infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and pneumatic systems
  • Ensure compliance with electrical and fire codes, as well as safety standards
  • Lead the installation and design of construction/projects within the facility infrastructure
  • Supervise and mentor a team of facility technicians, janitorial staff, and security staff
  • Coordinate activities of outside contractors for facility projects
  • Create a collaborative environment for effective communication between departments
