Job Description

Amazon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the battery development and test team within Project Kuiper. The role involves designing, testing, and validating advanced battery test systems for satellite battery systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in battery system design, cycler, and emulator development
  • Strong experience in PCBA design and electrical testing within battery or power system environments
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment and methodologies
  • Proficiency in schematic design, electrical drawings, and system-level verification processes
  • Experience with automation and data acquisition systems for battery testing
  • Strong Python coding skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, selection, and development of battery cycler and emulator test systems for space applications
  • Size electrical components for power supplies, current sensors, harnesses, gauges, etc.
  • Collaborate on the design of printed circuit board assemblies for Li-ion battery applications
  • Design and build custom test systems for electrical tests on battery systems and components
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of battery systems failures
  • Define project scope, milestones, and collaborate with Engineering for product optimization
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality controls
  • Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior engineers in battery development
