Controls Technician, Data Center Capacity Delivery

Job Description

The AWS Infrastructure Services team is seeking a Controls Technician for Service & Construction of Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems within Amazon data centers.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) diploma or Associate degree with one year of experience related to industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical/mechanical operations experience
• Minimum one year of experience working with computer components and operating systems
• Minimum one year of experience with mission-critical low and medium voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems
• Basic understanding of Industrial controls system, controllers, and programming including troubleshooting of industrial controls analog, discrete, and networked input/output field signals

Responsibilities

• Performing point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers
• Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of instrumentation associated with the BMS and EPMS in data centers
• Configuring and calibrating sensors
• Supervising low-voltage electrical contractors for wiring and installation of field devices
• Commissioning and systems level testing support
• Ensuring safety methodology is followed on site
• Performing root cause analysis during testing and commissioning
• Working on-call and responding to after-hours emergencies
• Providing support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, and task prioritization
