Job Description

The Senior Mechanical Engineer position at Project Kuiper involves designing and analyzing space and ground systems for a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide broadband connectivity to underserved communities globally.

Requirements

• BSME from ABET accredited university
• 8+ years experience as a mechanical engineer and designer
• 1+ years experience with structural engineering analysis methods and tools
• 1+ years experience with thermal engineering analysis and tools

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design and layout trade studies for satellite payloads or structures
• Conduct or oversee structural and thermal analysis
• Facilitate cost trades on multiple parallel configurations
• Generate detailed designs via CAD systems
• Deliver well-written documentation, reports, and presentations
• Design and support test campaigns for space hardware
• Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements
