Job Description

The Sr. Optical Network Development Engineer position at AWS Infrastructure Services involves building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks to support AWS, customers, and other business units across multiple data centers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of experience in optical communication systems or components
• 4+ years of experience with optical transceivers and IEEE standards
• 2+ years of experience working with optical and networking merchant silicon suppliers
• Experience developing test scripts for optics validation and characterization

Responsibilities

• Performing high-quality network and systems operations
• Collaborating with vendors to evaluate new hardware and software features
• Automating optical test plans and qualifying optical modules
• Identifying operational issues and improving quality and RMA process
