Sr. Product Design Engineer, Advanced Product Team

Job Description

Amazon Lab126 is seeking a Product Design Engineer to lead mechanical design, development and quality of consumer electronics products.

Requirements

• 6+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience with the project management of technical projects
• Experience with Product Design of Consumer Electronics product
• Experience with CREO CAD Software
• Experience with FEA simulation tools

Responsibilities

• Leading project teams and technical problem-solving
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Defining processes to improve productivity
• Identifying and initiating investigations of production technologies
• Prototype and test solutions for product features
• Design and validate production designs for exceptional user experience
• Researching materials and component technologies
• Feature design and testing
• Test failure analysis and solution validation
• Providing detail part design and product documentation
• Field failure analysis and solution evaluation
• Supporting positive team interactions
• Providing cross-functional program integration support
• Scheduling and milestone management
• Managing interaction with overseas resources
• Applying technical expertise to problem-solving throughout product lifecycle
