Job Description

The Project Controls Manager at Amazon is responsible for managing technical, cost-efficient, and fast-paced construction project schedules for data facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent + 10 years of industry experience, OR 14+ years of related project controls experience
• 10+ years of experience in project controls & construction management of large, complex projects involving large-scale power distribution/generation systems, MEP plants, and cooling systems
• Expertise in Project Controls Standards, estimating, Cost Management, Cost Forecasting, Schedule Management, Progress Measurement, Change Management, Risk Management, WBS/CBS/SBS, Cash-Flow, and benchmarking
• Experience with Progress Measurement using EVM, quantity-based EVM, and financially based EVM
• Ability to develop L4 project schedules utilizing project documents
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, value engineering, and building codes and regulations
• Fully bilingual in English plus either Spanish or Portuguese
• Experience in managing projects in multiple countries
• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Managing technical, cost-efficient, and fast-paced construction project schedules for data facilities
• Driving continuous improvement and reduced timelines while delivering high-quality data centers
• Collaborating with partner teams on budgeting and cost control processes
• Managing a team of contract Schedulers and Project Controls Managers
• Preparing management summary reports and collaborating with partners to ensure all necessary Project Controls information is included
• Reviewing and analyzing detailed schedules, preparing variance reports, and communicating findings and recommendations
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining effective scheduling reports, cost reports, and forecasts for multiple projects
• Supporting Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM) with stakeholders
• Leading or assisting with Project Forensic Analysis and field audits
• Traveling to construction job sites across the Americas to support new construction and product delivery
