Software Development Engineer III, Amazon Security Platform Engineering - Query Platform

Job Description

Join Amazon Security's Query Platform team to work on protecting Amazon and its customers by building and supporting a suite of services for query scheduling, routing, auditing, and engine built on Apache Spark.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals including expertise in object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures
• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java with a solid understanding of multi-threading and memory management
• Knowledge of big-data compute engines such as Apache Spark, Trino, and open table formats like Apache Iceberg
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
• 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 10+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 10+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle

Responsibilities

• Build and support Amazon Security's Query Platform services for query scheduling, routing, auditing, and engine
• Modernize security intelligence platform's data catalog and governance services
• Innovate and build data triggered job orchestration services
