Job Description

Project Kuiper is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on the Government Engineering team, focusing on developing innovative solutions for satellite and ground applications.

Requirements

• BSME from ABET accredited university
• 8+ years experience as a mechanical engineer and designer
• 1+ years experience with structural engineering analysis methods and tools
• 1+ years experience with thermal engineering analysis and tools

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design and layout trade studies for satellite payloads or structures
• Conduct or oversee structural and thermal analysis via finite element methods
• Facilitate cost trades on multiple parallel configurations
• Generate detailed designs via CAD systems
• Deliver well-written documentation, reports, and presentations
• Design and support test campaigns for space hardware
• Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements
