Sr. Software Development Engineer - Kuiper Network Services

Job Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing broadband network connectivity to unserved and underserved communities globally. The Sr SDE role involves building ground-based traffic processing pipelines for connecting Kuiper's satellite network to the external world.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience in building distributed infrastructure services on AWS

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and lead initiatives across multiple teams to build networking functions on AWS cloud infrastructure
• Lead teams, develop code, build CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and dashboards for monitoring health of systems and data pipelines
• Work with multiple cross functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate the infrastructure
• Develop and mentor junior and new team members
• Engineer and build a reliable and available cloud service for customer connectivity
• Work on features to enhance service quality and security for customers
