Job Description

The Amazon Acoustic Field Engineer position involves influencing all aspects of acoustics and sound mitigations for mechanical design, construction, operations, and maintenance for the global fleet of data centers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to acoustics, sound, or an equivalent engineering degree in a related field
• Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation by start date
• 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial, municipal, or commercial engineering including data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities

Responsibilities

• Coordinate acoustical mitigation requirements and provide detailed construction specifications
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for acoustic issues
• Own design-solutions for acoustic retrofit projects
• Lead acoustic audits and produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers
• Support training programs
• Drive improvement of acoustic design standards and project approaches across the organization
• Provide high-quality acoustic engineering advice on retrofit projects globally
• Ensure code compliance, design, and installation standards
• Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders
• Get into the field to see things up close
• Provide recommendations despite uncertainty/ambiguity
