Job Description

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Security Systems Engineer to pioneer and develop the next generation of security systems for AWS data centers. The role involves designing, configuring, and troubleshooting security systems, including IP surveillance cameras, access control systems, and intrusion detection systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Security or related technical field
• 5+ years experience in security systems, integration, hardware development engineering or similar role
• 5+ years experience in IP networking, including TCP/IP protocols and network architecture related to physical security systems
• 5+ years experience in communication protocols used in physical security systems (RS-485, RTSP, UDP)
• 2+ years experience in with enterprise security systems (Access Control, Video Management, Intrusion Detection, Mass Notification)

Responsibilities

• Designing and engineering comprehensive security systems incorporating access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related technologies
• Collaborating with data center architectural and engineering teams to integrate security requirements into facility designs
• Developing technical specifications and build plans for security system implementations
• Leading complex system integration projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Evaluating new security technologies and recommending solutions that enhance facility protection
• Creating detailed technical documentation for security systems and configurations
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational security policies
• Providing technical guidance to project teams during implementation phases
• Domestic and international travel approximately 25% of the time
