Job Description

The Lucene Search Engine team at Amazon is responsible for designing and developing query serving and indexing components of the product search stack, using state-of-the-art technology to match customer keywords to products in Amazon's catalog.

Requirements

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 2+ years of big data technologies experience
• 2+ years of server-side development experience

Responsibilities

• Dive deep into search engine internals to identify opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate with partner teams to define project roadmap
• Own end-to-end delivery on medium complexity projects
• Contribute to open-source Lucene
• Improve semantic matching capabilities
• Design and develop operational efficiency tooling
• Participate in on-call responsibilities
