Job Description

Join the Amazon Web Services (AWS) team as a Data Center Chief Engineer responsible for maintaining and operating critical infrastructure systems in some of the world's most sophisticated data centers.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or degree in a relevant field (electrical, mechanical)
• 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 3+ years of data center or mission-critical facilities experience

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues
• Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
• Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians
• Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operations Technicians
• Assist in the build-out of new facilities and projects to increase efficiency
• Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience
• Coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety and performance
• Establish building performance benchmarks and prepare reports on critical facility operations
• Work on hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting
• Manage projects from conception to completion
• Direct, train, and support technicians in their role
• Create and deliver key milestones, track costs, and document project results
