Engineering Operations Technician , Data Center Engg Ops

Job Description

Join the AWS Data Center Engineering Operations team to maintain and operate critical infrastructure systems across global AWS data centers.

Requirements

• Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2+ years’ of equivalent experience in a relevant industry
• 1+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
• 1+ years’ experience with Microsoft Office products (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
• Assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)
• Perform rack installs, decommissioning, operational readings, and facility management
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers
• Manage contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors on-site
• Oversee maintenance and operations on electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures while performing work
• Support concepts such as ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management creation, and building management systems
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% up-time
• Walk job sites in uneven terrain, lift and/or move heavy equipment, and participate in construction tasks
• Work schedule may involve shifts up to 12 hours and on-call rotations in some locations
