Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join the Backbone Enterprise and Regional Engineering team, responsible for designing, implementing, and operating networking infrastructure to support global connectivity between AWS Regions and edge locations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in network-focused technical role with IP routing protocols/technologies
  • Experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture
  • Experience with routers, server load balancers, and firewall vendor platforms like Cisco, Juniper, F5, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, technology refresh, and best practices application
  • Lead network projects in areas of network sustaining engineering, deployment/implementation, scaling, technology refresh, and optimization
  • Sustain AWS networks for significant customers by providing critical network support and resolving large-scale networking events
  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues
  • Drive innovation from Top of Rack to the Network Border, ensuring compliance with networking standards and policies
  • Collaborate with various engineering teams to deploy and sustain networking software tools and ensure fast roll-out of new designs and products
