Wireless Network Development Engineer, OTIE Wireless Engineering

Job Description

The Wireless Network Development Engineer will be responsible for developing technical strategies to ensure improved availability of one of the largest wireless networks globally.

Requirements

• 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
• 5+ years practical relevant experience
• Deep understanding of IP network fundamentals and packet capture analysis
• Wifi or other managed RF networks operations and engineering
• Analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Identifying, developing, and delivering technical solutions that improve the availability of wireless network technologies
• Partnering with peer teams to collectively understand customer problems and find technological solutions
• Defining and metering the availability of existing and future network solutions
• Identifying and delivering solutions that reduce operational impact to customers and enable scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized services
• Diving deep on complex problems to identify root causes and deliver corrective actions
• Evaluating new technologies, conducting lab testing, proof of concept, run books definition, and pilot deployment
• Innovating and automating infrastructure testing, deployment, operations, and life cycle management
• Developing automation to resolve wireless network failures
• Investigating challenging problems to identify root cause and make recommendations for improving customer experience on Wifi
• Participating in an on-call rotation
• Implementing metrics to measure wireless availability and identify performance risks
