Critical Infrastructure Electrical Engineer, Field Engineering

Job Description

The Amazon Critical Infrastructure Engineer will provide full life-cycle support to AWS Data Centers, troubleshoot site/equipment failures, support operational issues, and develop innovative solutions for data centers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation
• Coursework in commercial/industrial power systems
• Experience managing engineering projects and consultants
• Strong Engineering Judgement and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and writing skills

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures
• Support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including critical equipment, and event support
• Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions
• Interface with internal data center operations team, design engineering team, and other teams to promote standards
• Develop innovative solutions for AWS’s data centers
• Lead engineering audits and produce reports outlining risks and recommended mitigations
• Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
