Geotechnical Engineer, DC Design Engineering

Job Description

AWS is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its data center design team, responsible for providing technical guidance and oversight on geotechnical issues related to design and construction projects.

Requirements

• Professional Engineering License
• 10+ years professional experience in commercial, warehouse, and/or industrial design
• Experience in design for Data Centers or Mission Critical facilities
• Proficiency with geotechnical engineering standards
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite software

Responsibilities

• Analyze data collected during geotechnical investigations
• Provide technical guidance on geotechnical issues
• Manage external geotechnical design consultants
• Review and optimize designs for various geotechnical aspects
• Coordinate with internal and external design engineers
• Develop and maintain design standards for Data Centers
• Coordinate with AWS Due Diligence and Real Estate teams
• Create, review, and release design RFPs for projects
• Lead initiatives to improve cost, quality, and consistency
• Travel for site assessments and construction review
