Electrical Engineer II

Job Description

The Embedded Systems Engineer II at Milwaukee Tool will collaborate with global Engineering and Operations teams to design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics for low to mid-level complexity projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of experience in a design related role
• Understanding of embedded systems, PCBA manufacturing and power electronics
• Analog and digital system tradeoffs and design knowledge
• Working knowledge of C programming targeted at microcontrollers
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, and circuit simulation tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure
• Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process oriented with a strong work ethic
• Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international)

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and troubleshoot embedded electronics for projects
• Use laboratory equipment for testing and analysis
• Create test plans for electronic components and assemblies
• Identify tradeoffs and solutions to problems quickly
• Track projects to ensure adherence to schedule
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior Engineers
• Work with component suppliers and manufacturers for proper component selection
• Design and qualify new solutions to regulatory standards
