Senior System Software Engineer Platform - OpenBMC

Job Description

NVIDIA is seeking a talented individual to design and implement OpenBMC Firmware for GPU Server platforms, focusing on Arm architecture.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of experience in BMC Firmware development on X86 or ARM Platforms
• Expertise in board bring-up with device drivers like I2C/I3C, SPI, PCIe, SMBus, Mail-box, etc.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++, Bash, Python, Go for Linux user-space and system programs
• Experience with OOB or In-band System Management and standards like IPMI, KCS, DMTF, PMBus, NVMe, etc.
• Understanding of REST architecture style, JSON over HTTPs with OAuth
• Knowledge of Linux fundamentals, distributions, packages, upgrade mechanisms, and Linux image deployment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, team player, commitment to quality work

Responsibilities

• Design and implement OpenBMC Firmware for GPU Server platforms on Arm architecture
• Develop and review code, write design documents, and work with team members to achieve consensus
• Design solutions for errors, stats & configuration for enterprise readiness of NVIDIA Server platforms
• Develop performance optimized active monitoring BMC solutions using DMTF Standards
• Instrument code for maximum coverage, write unit tests, and maintain detailed test reports
• Provide software quality reports based on static analysis, code coverage, CPU load
• Collaborate with security and hardware teams to ensure product security and influence hardware design
