Staff Design for Reliability Engineer, High Voltage Battery

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Design-for-Reliability Engineer to play a key role in designing reliability into high voltage battery products.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of working experience in Design for Reliability
• Strong technical background and an interest in reliability
• Experience with facilitating FMEAs and leading cross-functional teams
• Working knowledge of a coding language, preferably Python
• Working knowledge of statistical software for reliability, such as JMP or the ReliaSoft suite
• Experience with thermal, mechanical, and electrical engineering fundamentals related to high voltage battery systems
• Physics of failure knowledge for high voltage battery systems
• Experience with designing failure mode driven accelerated life tests for battery packs
• Experience analyzing thermal, mechanical, and electrical system interactions within high-voltage battery systems

Responsibilities

• Design reliability into battery products from concept to production phases
• Work with design and validation engineers to come up with creative solutions
• Be the resident reliability development expert to the battery design, systems, and validation teams
• Develop reliability testing plans for high voltage battery products
