Staff Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

The role involves developing electrical vehicle products related to high voltage and low voltage electronics from concept to production launch at Rivian.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field
• Minimum 6 years of professional work experience in high voltage automotive power electronics product development
• Technical knowledge and manufacturing process experience in power device cooling and thermal management
• Experience with CATIA CAD tool, automotive supplier managing, sheet metal stamping, casting, wiring harness, and plastic injection molding processes
• Ability to work independently and manage several challenging projects simultaneously
• Problem-solving capabilities and willingness to drive to resolve product technical challenges

Responsibilities

• Developing on-vehicle power electronics components from concepts to production launch
• Leading and managing PCBA CM as PCBA DRE
• Leading cross-functional team discussions for power electronics development
• Improving PCBA mechanical design and packaging with electrical engineering team
• Working with component suppliers for development and manufacturing
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities and developing engineering plans
