Sr. Software Engineer, Front End

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Fulfillment Team within Commercial Technology. The role involves designing, developing, and testing customer-facing and internal applications for Rivian vehicles, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and upholding high engineering standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree in CS or any STEM discipline or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React
• Experience with GraphQL and REST development
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructures (AWS preferred)
• Familiarity working with Docker and Kubernetes or other serverless and container-based architectures
• Solid understanding of databases (Postgres, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Great understanding of caching, security and privacy considerations
• Unit testing and test-driven development experience
• Systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis experience
• Knowledge of Agile Development of Accessible Software Tools

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test customer-facing and internal applications
• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and other engineering teams on business and engineering initiatives
• Mentor more junior engineers and establish best engineering practices for the team
• Willing to support on-call rotation as needed for production systems
