Sr. Mechanical Design & Release Engineer, Battery Structures

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on developing battery structure components for their Electric Adventure Vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer
• Experience in developing solutions for complex cross-functional engineering problems
• Strong structural engineering foundation
• Automotive OEM/supplier experience is a plus
• Good collaborative and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Develop battery structure components for a specific Rivian program
• Manage BOM cost and mass for responsible parts
• Coordinate DFM studies and tooling investment for responsible parts
• Create engineering release documents
• Contribute to risk management activities
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop engineering solutions
• Collaborate closely with other teams to develop integrated solutions
• Work closely with downstream teams to support quality, reliability, and service
