Sr. Data & Analytics Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure within the Product Development Analytics team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics, or equivalent practical experience; Master's degree preferred
• 4+ years of analytics focused experience
• Expertise in SQL and Python for data transformation and pipeline development
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for creating efficient, maintainable, and scalable data systems
• Experience with ELT patterns and modern data stack tools such as Fivetran, dbt, Databricks (preferred), Snowflake, BigQuery is highly desirable
• Experience with any data quality, data security and monitoring initiatives is preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines and workflows
• Develop and optimize SQL and Python-based transformation code
• Architect data models and schemas
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Monitor and improve performance and reliability of data pipelines
• Champion data quality
• Partner with platform engineers
• Act as a mentor and thought leader for the data engineering community
• Streamline tools and processes, mature existing patterns, and establish new patterns as needed
