Job Description

Join a high functioning team at Rivian where you will play a critical role in defining the performance of Electric Adventure Vehicles by calibrating and testing vehicles against requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering)
• Strong first principles background
• Working knowledge of basic control systems, vehicle dynamics and electric powertrains
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to travel 25%-50%

Responsibilities

• Own the target setting, calibration and general development of the brake actuation and brake hardware systems
• Work with Chassis (brake) suppliers to integrate their software into the Rivian software environment and provide feedback on performance
• Define and organize testing programs that provide detailed vehicle dynamics focused objective and subjective information
• Benchmark competitive vehicles, record relevant information and refine Rivian’s target metrics
• Help develop full vehicle simulation models
• Utilize full vehicle simulation models to optimize the development of the vehicle platform
• Ensure system specific validation protocols meet program requirements and timeline
• Work in seamlessly with the Vehicle Controls team to integrate and test new control algorithms
• Work collaboratively across all Dynamic subsystems of the vehicle to ensure holistic driving performance targets are being met
