Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join their Enterprise Technology team in Serbia to work on designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure of Rivian's facilities enterprise application.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related STEM field, or equivalent industry experience
• Proficiency in Python for backend development
• Strong understanding with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices
• Proficiency in GraphQL / REST
• Strong understanding of databases (Postgres, RDS, DynamoDB, etc.)
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with TypeScript and React is preferred
• Ability to translate complex designs into scalable data structures
• Experience in unit testing and test-driven development experience
• Meticulous attention to system visibility (metrics, centralized logging, tracing)
• Experience using DataDog or similar technologies to debug production issues

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and other engineering teams
• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend systems and APIs for internal software applications
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, onboarding instructions, and technical specifications
• Actively participate in code and design reviews, weekly cross-functional meetings, and daily standups
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, while establishing and promoting best engineering practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve high priority or critical system bugs in a timely manner
• Provide support to data analytics teams for system database related inquiries
